Lol it's just as easy and quick as getting an oil change, except they didn't tell us some 3.6 owners would need a new valve body every oil change

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

Ugh not good... Driving home from work yesterday I noticed a couple times what seemed like an unusual 3-2 downshift....it caught my attention, but I didn't think too much of it. Sure as shit driving to work this morning it progressively got worse and now I have a nasty 3-2 downshift. Tranny temp doesn't seem to effect it and the harshness varies each time. One time was pretty nasty and best way to describe would be like as if I ran over a couple large rocks lol.
All up shifts are still perfect. So just like the other member, I randomly developed a harsh 2-3 shift when tranny temp below 130. Take it in and they replace valve body, now 50 miles later the 3-2 downshift is getting pretty bad. What sucks is that unlike the harsh 2-3 up shift which was harsh, but somewhat smooth (if that even makes sense), the 3-2 downshift sounds all clunky because you hear all the driveline slack.
Let the fun begin.....

It really sucks. I get more discouraged every day. Still waiting to hear what Chrysler wants to try now. I'll let you know.

The dealer doesn't know how to fix mine. They opened a star case. It is sitting at the dealer, since Monday in the heat...just waiting...

I mean what do they do, keep replacing the valve body until it happens to work good for all shifts?

I'm still awaiting a response from Chrysler. They seem to be dragging their feet.

After the valve body, wasn't the next step to replace the trans itself?

Still?!?!? Is it a star case too? If it is, then maybe they will start seeing a pattern.

The bad news...I may be waiting a while like you. When did you take yours back.

I would think so...can't think of anything else. Not that I really want to go thru that option.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

Yeah I gotta call my dealership tomorrow and get this thing back in. 100% of my 3-2 downshifts are abnormal. 90% of them are minimally different, meaning you can tell it was not a normal and smooth shift, but not bad enough to cause a passenger to question it. However I am finding about once a day I'm getting a downshift that sounds downright brutal on the transmission and driveline. It's not gonna change or get any better so no sense in letting it continue. I'll make the call tomorrow.

Bingo. My transmission shifts fine. It's the coasting that it clunks and bangs and pretty sure it's 3-2. I was reading this thread thinking "hmm I wonder if they have clunky 3-2 shifting."

I have a weird shift when cold 1-2. Then I have a loud squeak under hard acceleration on 1-2 and 2-3. Both have been issues since new. I took it last month to the dealer for an oil change and asked them to check if there was an update for the transmission but they said no. I have so many stupid little issues with this GC I hate it!!!!!!
