I took it last month to the dealer for an oil change and asked them to check if there was an update for the transmission but they said no. I have so many stupid little issues with this GC I hate it!!!!!!
Yeah its a tough one man as I really do like this Jeep, but what are you supposed to do if it doesn't work right? The other issue I had the dealer address was the fact that my auto high beams do not work properly. Driving home from work last night multiple times I once again had to turn my high beams off manually as they simply were not going off. Ugh. I'm gonna call the dealership right now to get it back in.

Just called the dealership and no openings until July 27th. Looks like I'm gonna be driving around breaking my transmission for a couple weeks yay.

An update I received: FCA Engineering is further trouble shooting. Techs are suggesting the replacement of the valve body.

Gosh I hope they find something else to do other than the valve body.

As I stated previously, new valve body worked for me for several months. Problem is back. Relearn didn't correct the problem. Don't know what to do. Have call into my dealer. They contacted chrysler last friday. Still awaiting outcome.

I feel you on that one, for sure. These stupid little issues. I'm getting near dumping it. My dealership is horrible and there isn't any others near to try. I have an appt made, the soonest I could get in is August 8th..

Yeah luckily for me there is a Jeep dealership every other block so take your pick. I chose the one that offers loaners and besides the issue coming back I was happy with their service. I suppose a dealership can only do so much to fix a problem that lies elsewhere.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

Update:
So this is really bizarre. I had another appointment to bring my Jeep back in today for the rough 3-2 downshift. After driving with it for a couple hundred miles I was able to really get a feel for how it was operating and what made the problem minimal and what made it real bad. First off tranny temp didn't seem to effect it, unlike the original harsh 2-3 upshift which was only tranny temps below 130. Driving straight like as if you were coming up to a stop light and the downshift was minimally harsh. Noticeable, but not terrible. Slowing down while in a turn... Like pulling into your driveway or a parking lot and it was downright brutal. Felt like something was gonna break.
So back to the bizarre part, driving home from work yesterday the problem literally disappeared as quickly as it showed up. I thought ehh maybe it was just a fluke and I'll see how it drives to work this morning. Sure enough it's dead smooth...wtf?!? Either my Jeep desperately does not want to go back to the dealership today, or these trannys truly have a mind of there own.
So now what do I do? It's literally driving perfectly as of now lol.

So my question to you guys that have had similar problems to me, did the problem ever randomly go away for a while and eventually show up again, or were your issues continuous and once they started they never went away?

That is so strange. For some reason while reading your post the theme from "Twilight Zone" kept running through my head. Now I can't get it out. Let's hope it stays perfect. Best of luck.

I came here to say mine is perfect sometimes, and then sometimes my transmissions feels like it's going to break in half.

But I have a diesel. I am not sure, is this thread applicable to me? Do we have the same trannys?

I have done the battery thing, all flash updates, a relearn, and resetting the shift points (not sure if relearn and reset of shift points is the same thing).

Was pretty good after the relearn, but now my 3-2 is terrible.

I think after reading this, I am confident that all of our problems are software related and not mechanical. Just the fact that the problems are temporarily corrected, for the most part, after a relearn. Also, replacing the tranny doesn't help the situation. My big dissapointment is that the problem still exists. This is totally unacceptable on Chryslers part considering that it's been three years. Needless to say, I'm getting closer day by day to abandoning Chrysler products for good.

I agree. Reason being is that if the transmission is physically capable of shifting just fine sometimes, but other times it doesn't, then it cant possibly be mechanical. If it was a mechanical problem it would be a constant problem that couldn't remedy itself just like that. I just got home from work and once again its shifting 100% perfectly....so weird. What the heck could have possibly happened the other day driving home from work that the tranny decided that its going to work perfectly?!?

Glad to hear it is shifting better now. No doubt it is weird!

After 8 days they finally decided to do the valve body. I was hoping for some other fix. Car should be done tomorrow, I was told. I know it will shift fine after the repair and relearn.

Also agree it is not mechanical related.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

Definitely with you, mine isn't horrible all of the time. It's like a bi-monthly thing. It comes, and stays for a while. Then goes for a month or less. Then is back for a while. If I'd have to say... It might not be on that specific of a schedule but the issues are persistent then disappear, basically. Like today, I've been all over the place in it and not one single transmission issue. My door latch is creaky as hell though.
