Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

Hi, I have a 2012 Laredo altitude and it suffers from the loss of performance
Does anyone know if this tab is still valid for 2012 My2013 models, the symptoms are exactly the same as described in the tsb

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

Welcome eskimo!

Rhis TSB was only for early 2011 models and that all models after that have this fix implement at the factory.

I do know that the 5-speed tranny with the V6 isn't calibrated for performance, it's leaning more towards fuel economy. You sometimes have to "punch it" to get it to react(down shift).

Is there a way to determine the build date of a GC? (without stopping by a dealer)

The build date should be on the sticker on the driver door jam.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

I scheduled an appointment on Friday, through the dealership web site, to have the September TSB applied today. I put in the notes that I was having shifting issues in ECO mode and occasional clunks. They emailed me back on Friday that they couldn't do it in the morning but asked if 2pm would be fine. I email back and said that 2pm was good.

Took the car in today and they said that they had two TSBs to apply, the shift enhancement and the Uconnect upgrade. I hadn't asked them to do the Uconnect upgrade, so they must have checked for additional open TSBs. I told them that I applied the Uconnect upgrade last night and that I just needed the shift TSB.

Less than an hour later and they were done...

No muss, no fuss, no arguing... Other than an oil change, it was the simplest and easiest service that I have ever had on a car.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

I recently purchased a beautiful 2011 JGC Limited w/10k miles. After driving it for about a week, I noticed a "lag/hesitation" during acceleration. I guess this falls under the performance notes in TSBs I've seen on this forum. I took the vehicle to the dealer and explained it to the tech. The tech flash updated the PCM with TSB 18-048-11. Drove Jeep from Green Bay to Texas and back, all the while noting the problem still existed. Returned to tech with TSB 18-012-11a with highlights. He test drove and acknowledged the lag issue during light to moderate acceleration but said in the comment section of the invoice that vehicle is "driving as designed". Furthermore, the TSB I brought w/me only applies to JGC built prior to March 6 2011. Mine was built 06-11. I asked him to explain driving as designed and he said it is tuned that way for enhanced gas mileage/ECO performance. Really? I called JEEP and spoke with a customer svc rep. She put me on hold and called my dealer to confirm all software upgrades applied to my JGC. The customer svc rep said the tech was correct in his driving as designed explanation concerning the lag during acceleration. Rep said that no TSB updates are available at this time. Ladies/gents, where do I go from here??

Hey guys sorry if it's already been explained, but is there a way I can tell if my transmission has the latest update already installed from the dealer? I would like to know before I bring it in so that if they tell me that no tsb's apply, I can confirm the latest flash is currently installed

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

Well it has been aprx 2000mi after they flashed mine, No changes Still have 12-14 mpg i was getting 18-19 mpg and the chugging is more noticeable then before so made an app to have them take another look when i got there they told me to leave it for a few DAYS. so they had my Full attention now my reply was WHY ? so we can hook up the scanner and see whats going on, I asked is the machine like a Dyno that you can see whats it is doing, " WAIT FOR IT---WAIT FOR IT his Jak azz reply was OH NO it is a hand held that we plug in and reads the codes, My reply (after wiping "I LOOK STUPID" off my forehead ) are you kidding my a few days to do that will you Please just re-flash it and i will be on my way!! not the best thing to do because after Expressing my "are you kidding" Kinda Aggressively / loudly 3 1/2 hrs in the waiting room I was on my way
so short story LONG I will update if the second flash worked.
