Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

is anyone else experiencing hard shifting from 2-3? This only occurs when the tranny is less than 115deg. Once above that temperature the shifts are smooth. It is more noticable when you are accelerating or going up hill.

I got the latest software update which definitly improved all shifting and did help 2-3 somewhat but I still notice hard shifts (2-3) when the tranny is cold and I am accelerating. I am wondering if this is common issue or if there is an issue with with my tranny only. Possibly a mechanical issue?

Yeah, I am noticing this in my 2014 3.6L. Both the 1-2 and 2-3 shift when cold is, shall we say, less then smooth. I had the software update done in October.

I did notice an interesting thing. Currently in Phoenix at about 1900 feet. Went to Albuquerque which is around 5600 feet and the shifting problem wasn't there at all when the transmission was cold. Very, very weird. Almost like the software uses a different shift algorithm at different altitudes. Or something else.

Bottom line is that closer to sea level I definitely have the issue.

***Edit***

Just noticed that the TSB was updated in December and supersedes the one from October, so maybe they fixed the fix? Will have to take it into the dealership in a couple of weeks (when I have time) to see if this does the trick. http://wk2jeeps.com/tsb/Tsb_wk2_2100713c.pdf

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

i told them this:

"My transmission is shifting hard and too early. I did some research online and found out there is a service bulletin for it..... I have the number for it if that will help?"

then give them the number 21-007-13C

they will have all that info.. it will just make it easier for them to pull it up

Me too!

I had my reflash done over a month ago...still shifting smoothly, even in ECO mode while driving in bumper to bumper traffic.

When my transmission would act up, it was just the opposite from what others have posted. For me it would start shifting hard after it was fully warmed up, and got worse while driving in heavy traffic.

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

Thank you, but I'm pretty sure, although not positive the numbers refer to month, day, and hour the vehicle was built. I was just wondering if there is a vin cut off our if I was misunderstanding the tsb.I thought vin was the usual way to track if your vehicle was within range.

EC380730 is the last 8 of my vin. Would there be a way to find out my build date from that info? Thanks!
