Re: Auto Climate Control Display Problems

I bought from allmoparparts

The harnesses fit and everything. I'm not exactly sure how to check them other than that. I have plugged/unplugged it several times. Could it not be sitting correctly? I had to modify the lateral fins on the plug but nothing electrical.

If I were sent a durango unit, would the harnesses still fit in a GC?

Looking at pictures of durango climate controls online (google), it looks like they have the rear controls...

Re: Auto Climate Control Display Problems

It could be many things. Defective unit, wrong model, etc.

Can you return it? If you can, then I would do so. Buy one from JustForJeeps.com and you'll be assured to get the proper model.

Re: Auto Climate Control Display Problems

Not sure about the blue backlight.

I finally popped off the unit and the product number is definitely AQ. So I don't understand why it doesn't have the heated/ventilated seats.

I talked to the sales man at allmoparpart and said Chrystler switched from AP to AQ. He then offered to find/send me a AP and pay for the return shipping on the AQ. The only problem is, he will not be able to cover the new AP if it doesn't work.

Taking that gamble seems to be my only option.

Does this all sound right to you guys? It seems like this should work anyway and the guy at allmoparparts agreed.

Re: Auto Climate Control Display Problems

Could it be that you simply got a defective unit?

Re: Auto Climate Control Display Problems

I have no idea.

I guess my other option would be to have them send me another AQ so it would be covered?

Re: Auto Climate Control Display Problems

If you press the buttons does it do anything?

Sounds to me like a defective unit. Return it for the same model and see.

Doing a google search for 55111916AQ does list it as being for Jeep and Dodge.

Re: Auto Climate Control Display Problems

It does switch from front to floor to defrost etc. And I can even control the temp from hot to cold and also the fan speed. It is just the display that I am having trouble with.

I might request a different AQ then if all else fails, gamble on the AP

Re: Auto Climate Control Display Problems

is it possible there is a printed film on your display that needs to be removed?

have seem some electronics in blister packages for comsumer display with a visual representation of the screen output...

know its a long shot but........

also
"IS" there a difference if you use a "full option" control (heat/vent seats, etc) in a vehicle not containing those options?

I have a full option control with no heated or vented seats and works just fine. the heat/vent buttons wont light up when pressed but the back light turns on along with the other buttons
