Auto Comfort feature Always Defaults On In Cold Weather - FIX

TSB #: 08-016-14

DATE: 02/12/2014

SUBJECT: Auto Comfort feature Always Defaults On In Cold Weather

OVERVIEW: This Bulletin involves reconfiguring the vehicle for proper operation of the Auto Comfort feature.

MODELS:
2014 (WK) Grand Cherokee
2014 (WD) Durango

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before January 22, 2014 equipped with Heated Steering Wheel (sales code NHS) and Heated Front Seats (sales code JPM) WITHOUT Remote Start System (sales code XBM).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may notice when the weather is cold the heated steering wheel and heated seats will automatically turn on. The customer will have to turn off both systems each time the key is cycled. There is no personal setting in the menu to have the Auto Comfort System default to off when the vehicle is started. Reconfiguring the vehicle will give the customer the option to have this feature be on or off when the vehicle is started.

Re: Auto Comfort feature Always Defaults On In Cold Weather - FIX

Clarification question - does this address an issue where uConnect does not physically present an option to disable auto comfort?

Or does it address the scenario where I start the vehicle first thing in the morning and run errands and eventually turn off the wheel and seats because the car is warm but it continues to turn both on with each start because it's below 40 degrees?

After reading this a few more times it appears to be the former rather than the latter.

Thanks for the post, so looks like there's a tsb for those who have the menu setting and can't change it and now this one for those who lack the menu setting.

Not a big deal, but it would be nice to program whether you want the hi or lo setting for the heated driver's seat when starting.
