Auto headlights issue

It seems that whenever I set my headlight dial to auto, the lights will automatically switch the high beams on at night. I was driving for a long while with the high beams without even knowing it. Is there an adjustment in the EVIC or something that I'm missing?

Re: Auto headlights issue

There is an auto high beam feature. If you flip the turn signal lever it will turn it off. You can also change a setting in the EVIC that will completely disable the feature and the high beam lever on the turn signal stalk will function the old/typical way.

Re: Auto headlights issue

With the stalk forward, the auto-high beam will be operative. With the stalk pulled back, you'll stay in low beams. Your EVIC will notate when you make the change and then go back to what you have it set to display normally.

Re: Auto headlights issue

Can you further clarify what "stalk pulled back" means?

Re: Auto headlights issue

The turn signal stalk, moves toward and away from the driver.

The high beam position is the normal position as the lights will automatically dim for oncoming traffic, cars ahead, etc. The low beam position is there in case you need keep high beams off all the time (in fog, dust, etc.)

Re: Auto headlights issue

I figured it out (and now feel rather stupid). Thanks all.
