Auto-Headlights Not Coming On

I just got my jeep last week, and everything has been great. Tonight though I noticed that my auto-headlights were not coming on in my car at night... anyone have this happen before? Where is the sensor? I did just have a radar detector hard wired right next to the rear-view mirror. Thanks to any and all for help!

Re: Auto-Headlights Not Coming On

The radar detector shouldn't have anything to do with it. It's never affected mine.

Dumb question: Are you certain the headlight switch was set to auto mode all the way to the left?

Curious question: Were the daytime running lights on during this lack of auto headlight operation?

Re: Auto-Headlights Not Coming On

FYI, I believe the ambient/sun light sensor is the little dome, center forward top dashboard, near the forward defroster vents.

Re: Auto-Headlights Not Coming On

Problem resolved. Best Buy installed a part, they damaged the ground wire in doing so. Ground wire replaced, sensor functioning again.
