Re: Aux Lighting fail inspection

Definitely agree. Never argue. It gets you know where.
I have done as they requested and had the light removed. They will be reinspectioning in morning.
As for talking to the Tech and his supervision and getting it in writing. No such luck. These guys are running the show and no way you can get that level of access at this dealership. They are efficient at, " no" and "I am as high as you go"( during other visits I have watch others get shot down and will not even try) during this same visit I had reported a transmission issue with early morning shifting from 1-2 & 2-3. They told me it was considered normal and it did not even appear on the service invoice. I asked and was told "I cannot but down what is normal"
I take this be nice stuff to an entire level further then most. Hence, I will go to a different dealer rather then argue. However since I purchased a maintainance contract at time of purchase I will have the basic maintainance taken care of by them till it has expired.

Re: Aux Lighting fail inspection

So to provide conclusion/resolution to my story.
Jeep was reinspected and passed. While waitting decided to walk down hill and check out new car show room (very large dealership) and meet with my salesmen while inspection a Chevy Colorado. It had some dealer installed aftermarket lighting on a light bar above the cab. There was 4 light bars that functioned same as my one behind lower fascia grill did.
Funny how things are. So obvious. Just so obvious. Anyway thanks for the guidance as I suspected it was an end around on getting me to $$$ more to dealership. Live and learn.

I will reinstall using a quick disconnect for wringing and quick disconnect for mounting bracket. This way I avoid as I move forward any potential issues.
