Battery charge, did anyone put on a after market gauge

Has any body setup a after market battery gauge.for advanced as the jeep is there is no battery gauge you could have left out another display in evic for a battery gauge.seen a post on you tube where a individual took off the serpentine belt started the car with out the alternator running and there is no indicator light.

Re: Battery charge, did anyone put on a after market gauge

There is a light for the charging system. It will come on if you are drawing too much power or if the system is not charging correctly which is normally all the battery gauges show (the charging rate not the output of the battery). If you are really concerned you can get something like this: Equus Innova 3721 - which can be purchased at Wal-Mart/Amazon or I'm sure a bunch of other places.

Hi - I have put a 2" Smiths Battery Condition Gauge on my WK2 CRD Overland, I bought a carbon fibre look single hole pillar mount pod for the gauge, mounted it on the driver side A- Pillar low down so it doesnt block vision, an easy fit & looks good too. I agree , especially if using vehicle for towing , you need to know what volts are in the electrical system.....

I put my battery on a battery tender for 24 hours 2-4 times a year just to keep it healthy i do not know if it is a waste of time with the new battery technology.my 96 I traded on this 2011 had a optima that was a great change from the stock mopar I wish I never got rid of that jeep.
