"How did you first notice the problem? I notice mine *chirping* sometimes after it's warmed up"

It started Chirping when the engine was hot. At first I couldn't hear it in the cabin. But I could hear an intermittent noise if I was out of the vehicle with the engine running. Then it got worse. I believe the whole time it was the water pump. Right after the tesioner replacement it got worse.
Never did the vehicle overheat, just the noise from the bearing.

Fuc*. I'm just over 9,000 miles. Not good.

Well guess that answers all my questions and worries about it.

Thank you for your help.

So did you end up getting rid of the Jeep all together, get another one or what?

Re: Belt Squeal

Mine originally started to sound like a diesel running. Very rough sounding. Toward the end of it going out, it was the spray of anit-freeze under the hood that gave it away.

I won't be letting it get to that point, unless it happens out of no where.

I'm just trying to bide my time so that I can actually take it in when the sound is audible, so I'm not trying to explain to the yackass technicians at the dealership. Which you seem to know all about too, unfortunately.
