Beware of Alignment Morons

Little back story here... I was on vacation vising Family in Lexington, Ky and had a check engine light come on. Jeep started driving very rough and limped into the Freedom Dodge Dealership there. A part in the transmission needed to be replaced but that's a different story. They told me my alignment was also off and needed to be done. $90 bucks later I found it was a $1000 mistake.

So fast forward 6 months to today....My Jeep went in the shop this week for the shudder issue.. They did all sorts of investigation and isolated it down to maybe the tires. The took them off and were appalled to see that the inside corner of the tires were worn bald. Of course this has gone unnoticed as that the rest of the tread has easily another 7-10K miles left. One of the tires is under a year old, as it had to be replaced due to a nail puncture. These tires need to be replaced immediately and also an alignment. So watch out for these morons out there who have no clue what they are doing.

Another good tip is never, ever, let an unfamiliar dealer or mechanic touch anything more than absolutely necessary when away from home.
If the vehicle drives well enough to get home, take it to a dealer where you can throw rocks thru the window if needed.

Some dealers are honest even for strangers... then there are the rest.
