Unhappy Big Leak Under My Engine

Good day! Jeep fan!

For me I dunno if it's a good day I haven't drive my 2011 GC for almost a month now because of the odd noise coming from the engine and a big leak under my engine. sucks me! It all started early month of Dec 2012 when I heard some noise coming from engine. I've always inspect my Jeep every morning, I can't find what's the problem everything seems normal all the connection and fluids. I even top up my steering wheel fluid since i've notice it always running low. I ended up taking it the nearest Chrysler/Jeep dealership from where I live, just before Christmas. At first I was told just to keep on toping up the steering wheel fluid so it won't run out, while waiting for my appointment which is not happening after 3 weeks. so I bought 3 L of steering wheel fluid just make sure I have enough for the rest of the month. after driving just around town just before new year the leak got worst, like even if I pour the whole jug of steering wheel fluid in, it will just drain out as soon i start the engine. Two days ago I have to call Roadside Assistant to have it tow to the nearest Chrysler/Jeep, because I can't drive my JEEP anymore, the steering wheel is so heavy can't hardly turn the wheel, I found steering wheel fluid all over my driveway. The service dept. of the dealership told me it MIGHT be the steering wheel pump or the pressure hose or line has a problem. Until now I'm still waiting, no JEEP, dealership have not contact me for any updates.

Re: Big Leak Under My Engine

First off, welcome to JG. This post actually belongs in the WK2 section (because WK is only for 2005-10), but it seems like what the dealer told you is most likely true. Losing power steering fluid is most likely due to a faulty pump or the line (unless the reservoir itself is damaged/flawed). Hopefully you're under warranty and the dealer will get it fixed in short order. Be sure to report back!

MODS PLEASE MOVE THIS THREAD TO THE WK2 FORUM.
