Re: Blind Spot Detection System

I'm pretty such the error will come back.

I had a similar problem (Blind Spot Detection Unavailable) along with one of the side mirror triangles lit up solid (can't remember if it was the driver's or passenger side).

The dealership first said it was a loose connection under the front passenger seat electronic bundle. The problem didn't happen again for several months. When it returned, the dealership service department finally figured out a module in the driver's side door was bad & they replaced it.

Well, week three and after the dealer replaced the driver mirror and module, I still don't have Blind Spot.

They have since opened a START case but no response and its been a week. I'm getting annoyed that I have the top of the line jeep and we can't get this fixed. I hope it is resolved soon because I will not accept it as it is. I've had this Jeep since April and it only has 2700 miles. I take a lot of pride in my Jeeps and I spend a lot of time keeping it in top shape and always serviced by the dealer.

Re: Blind Spot Detection System

OverlandSum, I'm wondering what your fix was... I had that error come up myself this weekend (two weeks old, under 1400 miles on it!), and going to make an appointment later today at my dealer...curious what your outcome was.

It's been over a month and five appointments and no resolution yet. They have replaced the mirrors and the module.

Very frustrated. They want to do one more thing but the part is on back order. Who knows when that will come in.

Re: Blind Spot Detection System

They just ordered me a module. It's funny, because it works for a few minutes before I get that error message, but it comes up every time I start it up after about five minutes.... Up until I get the error message, it seems to work fine.

Re: Blind Spot Detection System

I am getting the same message (1145 miles) but neither of the side view mirror warning lights are illuminated. This is ridiculous. I am not as patient as most, if there is not an easy fix, I am moving on to an LR4. I LOVE the GC but it seems to be one thing after another with these trucks.

Re: Blind Spot Detection System

Worth a shot:

1. Start vehicle and cycle gears from D/S to R twice. If fault is still present see #2.

2. Drive vehicle above 12mph in a straight line with stationary objects on either side for a minimum of 30 seconds or until fault clears.

"Blind Spot Alert Temporarily Unavailable" message in EVIC would go away.

Re: Blind Spot Detection System

Milous, my warning does not stay lit in the EVIC...it appears with a warning chime and then disappears......at that point, the mirrors no longer illuminated when a car is approaching from the rear.....

Could be an issue that the procedure will not fix, but I would try it regardless.
