Re: Bought a 14 yesterday and aproblems already

BTW P300 means generic misfire/multiple cyl so not a plug wire or coil. If it had been just one cyl, the last digit would say which one (e.g. P0302 - #2 cyl), was often a bad head in '11-'13 but '14s shouldn't have that.

Baby may have just needed burping.

Re: Bought a 14 yesterday and aproblems already

Good deal. FWIW I have 43,000 miles on my 14 summit. Ive had it for just a little over a year. Its been trouble free until the whole computer system went nuts. I had to pay for the RRT ecu reflash because its out of warranty. That was a bit annoying but it was only $16.00. Im about ready to put a new set of tires on it.

I traded my 256,000 mile 07 tacoma TRD offroad and an 07 AMG E55 Mercedes for the JEEP and so far the Jeep has surpassed my expectations. I was really close to buying a Range Rover Sport Supercharged vs the JEEP but couldnt justify the extra cash when the RR wasnt that much nicer, had worse fuel economy, an over all worse repair record, and took premium gas! The Grand Cherokee is a heck of a vehicle! Good Choice

Re: Bought a 14 yesterday and aproblems already

I had a similar problem at 233 miles and it was a loose crank position sensor or something like that. I was driving and coming to a stop and the engine started shuddering like crazy. I had it towed to a sealer, but when the tow truck driver started the truck up, it ran fine. So that is something you may want to check.

Dealer traced the problem and found the connection loose. Pulled it apart, cleaned it out, put dielectric grease on it, and then reconnected making sure it was a stable connection. No problems since and have 3200 miles on mine.

Re: Bought a 14 yesterday and aproblems already

I PICKED UP MY 14' G.C. V6 AND LESS THAN 200 MILES I HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT... I was furious , lol brand new truck . i knew deep down i should i got Japanese ... but whatever.
brought it to the dealer and they said truck had a bad oxygen sensor bung (the part on the pipe that has the threads was stripped and it was leaking exhaust pressure) causing the light to come on by throwing off the sensor readings...... they had to order the part (new and pipe and new o2 sensor) few days later brought it in and it has been ok for 6,000 miles now. if you look at a post i replied to earlier today . i have very sporadic problem . truck goes totally limp when merging on highway, happed 3 times since ownership. last about 7-8 seconds. Feels like computer freezes up and no throttle response.... very weird and dangerous. hasnít done it in a few weeks. if it happens again I am going to have to bring it in.
besides all this B.S. I really like the Jeep, sold my Range Rover HSE and Mercedes and this truck has all the nice options i was used to, with much better gas MPG.
feel free to email me if you have had this problem = indy1141@Gmail.com

Did you contact the dealer about the limp mode that has happened?

Doesn't your dealer offer courtesy transportation?

Re: Bought a 14 yesterday and aproblems already

yes, just called , i have an apt on the 29th , with a loaner. they had a rapid response transmittal that came up with my vin number. That sounded like a software update. either way hope this fixes problem. Its intermitting so will not know if it resolves it for few weeks.
