Re: Brake Booster recall

Interesting... a recall, but no parts are available. I guess sending the letters must get Chrysler off the legal hook, but I doubt it.

Got my notice in the mail, called the local dealership and an appointment was scheduled for the next day. I thought this is too good to be true. Dropped it off at 7:30 am that day and went about my business. Heard nothing by 3:00 pm so I called and guess what? It was too good to be true. They don't have the parts and don't know when they will be available. Overall, I think Jeep makes a great vehicle and it would be nice if the dealerships that sale them could be on the same level.

Re: Brake Booster recall

I just had the recall completed yesterday. I was in last Monday, but they had to order the part.

Re: Brake Booster recall

I got this recall notice and I already knew without even calling that there will be no parts for who knows how long. I really don't want them working on something that I am not having an issue with anyhow so I just put it off to the side.

Re: Brake Booster recall

I've missed out on this due to the date of production of the Jeep, but it's interesting that I have the same sort of issue with my GM Holden Cruze (Chevrolet Cruze LTZ).
Found out in August 2013 that the car was required to have a safety recall for the brake booster micro switch that was corroding and failing.
Parts have now arrived and it gets done on Monday..
Another 6 weeks and the safety recall will have its 1st Birthday!
So I guess 300 or so days to get it done..Hmmmmm

Re: Brake Booster recall

Much like those reporting above, I received the recall notice, called my dealer...and then it changed a bit. Service Manager said they were receiving ONE replacement part a week from Chrysler, so he would put my name on the list and when "my" week came up, and my part arrived, they'd call to arrange a service appointment.

One a week? I'm seventy-four, I may never see the recall repair for my Jeep. WTF is that all about?
