Should be right on your build sheet. Contact milous with Vin. Or might be on window sticker as well.

Re: Brake creak when coming to complete stop

My seven week old 2012 has this problem, too. It was so loud today that I finally decided to look here about it. I doubt it's a pad break-in issue for me as it's been doing this since day 1. And was a factory order and I got it fresh off the truck from the factory with just 14 speedo miles.
It's only the front driver side.
Usually the creak isn't that bad but today when I came to a stop at a red light it was so loud that it startled me.
It was raining, so perhaps that's a factor. My build sheet has a "BHCS" code on it - "Rain Brake Support" - anybody know what that is?
I'll probably just live with it until the first oil change and will then leave it with them that day so they can look at it.

Re: Brake creak when coming to complete stop

Rain brake support is another safety feature that senses rain and dries the brakes by intermittently applying light pad pressure. It is supposed to help stop the vehicle faster. You should not feel any difference when driving while this feature is working.

See, I always wondered about this myself. Some say that's a myth, some say it's not. Don't the dealerships get paid by the manufacturer to do the warranty work, and so they shouldn't care where you bought it from?

Re: Brake creak when coming to complete stop

My 2012 Overland 4x4 started doing this within the first week of ownership. I didn't hammer the brakes when stopping and tried to do a proper vehicle break in.

When I first went to my dealership to have them fix the squealing brakes along with some other issues, their cracker-jack technicians said they weren't able to reproduce the problem. I jumped in my vehicle and reproduced it on the spot. The Service Manager then told me a story about "Glazed Brakes". He recommended a few HARD STOPS to try and fix it.

5,000 miles later and the problem was still there.

The dealership finally replaced the pads along with a MUCH NEEDED Alignment & tire rotation. The problem with the squealing brakes appears to be gone for the most part.
