Still in the shop for the intermediate shaft TSB

I am hoping to hear something today. When they called me on Friday to update me on the car, the service tech didn't have any information about the other fixes (rattle, brakes, etc). I guess they are still waiting for parts to come in that they ordered on Wednesday last week. It's a little frustrating but at least I have a rental while I am waiting. Could be worse!

When I find out from them and/or pick it up, I'll let you know what they found.

Wondering how things went? Particularly interested to see if they found/cured your roof rattle?

When I brought it in I was also going to have some TSB work done. It took them until yesterday to finally get all the parts in (see my other thread about parts). So rather than being stuck in a crap rental for an unknown time-frame, I went back and picked up the Jeep before they took care of the rattle. I have a appointment on Tuesday to get everything fixed finally. I will let you know what they come up with.

Re: Brake Issue and Panoramic Roof Liner Rattle

Try pressing up toward the roof on the roof liner area on the outer side of the sunroof. Work your way around the whole sunroof area. Sometimes the push pins can pull loose. I had 2 loose ones and the rattle stopped. You can't see the pins but they are there behind the roof liner. It may be as simple as that. Good luck.

Re: Brake Issue and Panoramic Roof Liner Rattle

I developed a rattle and tried Steven1's suggestion. I had (3) loose connectors, or pins. Pushing up on them I heard them pop into place and no more rattle. Many thanks to Steven1 for the suggestion!

Re: Brake Issue and Panoramic Roof Liner Rattle

UPDATE - Got the Jeep back today. I Had a bunch of things done all at once (A/C TSB, Steering TSB, One of the Horns was shorted out, Water leak through the back window, Alarm TSB, and the roof rattle). After three days in the shop I can say that everything seems to be fixed and working great. At one point during the process they did try to tell me that it was my sunglasses rattling in the overhead compartment. I told them that the sound was there after they were removed. There wasn;t a solid answer as to how the rattle was fixed but it sounds like it was the loose push pins/connectors though. After they investigated around everything, it went away. I haven't noticed it either during any driving today. I will keep an ear out but for right now I consider the issue fixed and closed. If anyone finds that there is some other issue besides the connectors, please post. I'm curious to see if maybe there is more to it.

The same thign went for the water leak. While they were searching around they removed the rubber grommet and then re-inserted it. The leak went away and haven't been able to reproduce since.

Did they repair or say anything about the brake issue?

Re: Brake Issue and Panoramic Roof Liner Rattle

Ahh, the old push-pin fix ehh? Wish mine were that simple. I keep reading about it, and keep (time after time) pushing against my entire headliner near where the rattle is, hoping something will "pop into place", but NO LUCK!

The only thing I have noticed on mine, is on the roof rail on the top (outside) of the Jeep, above where I hear the rattle, there appears to be a loose rivet. The rivet on the other side (where there's no rattle) is snug. I'm wondering if this could be doing something?

Hmmm....well thanks for the update, and best of luck with yours. Please keep us posted if the rattle returns, or is indeed fixed.
