Brake Issues?

Lately I've been noticing that my 14 GCL is taking a long time to engage the brakes when I press down on the pedal. It feels like the Jeep doesn't want to actually apply the brakes until it downshifts a few gears which is making me nervous as on a few occasions the Jeep has almost failed to stop in traffic and I've almost missed street turns because of this. I am not driving fast and applying the brake with enough time and space for it to slow down/stop. I've also noticed that the downshifting has become increasingly harsh after having the latest TSB applied in April. Any advice on what I should do? I have a feeling a trip to the dealer will have them telling me they are unable to duplicate the issue.

Re: Brake Issues?

Have you checked out the threads on the brake booster recall?

Yeah I have, I forgot to mention that in my first post, not sure if that's the problem though bc according to Chrysler my build date of 10-13 isn't affected.

Re: Brake Issues?

If your system isn't holding pressure then the only things I can think of are a brake fluid leak somewhere in the system or a problem with the brake booster.

If it happens all the time or quite often then your dealer should be able figure it out.
