Please check your brake light reflectors for damage over the light bulb and socket. I had water ingress in one and had it changed. On close inspection (I hasn't taken anything apart) the older reflector seems to have heat damage in the form of a cloud over the socket (like DRL front reflectors) and a small burnt spot with a hole right over the bulb top. Be aware that it is difficult to see because of reflections.
I have the exact same thing. There is also a similar discussion in the Export Section, but they outside domestic cars don't have that issue apparently, I guess because blinker and brake are separated in two different housings.
My feeling this bad quality of he reflector. I couldn't think of anything else.
Would be interesting to know if CJD is intending to put a TSB out for this?
It's hard to see, agree. I tried to make pictures of mine but not very visible either.
You can see it on the left better. If you look at your car it would be right above the bulb. Is about a quarter since spot with a melted spot in the middle.
