Re: Brakes don't always work

Glad you got it sorted out. I would avoid that dealership in the future.

On the subject of brakes, I had the nasty surprise yesterday to discover that the rear brake discs were so corroded, that on the left side, a groove was made in it. The Pentastar 3.6 L V6 motorized Jeeps have solid rear discs (i.e. not ventilated). On the left rear rotor, a 1 inch groove has appeared on its circumference, almost mimicking that "ventilation window". It is also deep, about 5 mm by my estimates. Rather scary but I had the foresight to order the brake upgrade "kit" already (brackets and rear calipers. I just didn't know that I would do brakes now rather than this summer. Makes me wonder what else is corroded ?

2014 Grand Cherokee purchased in April 2013 (3 years old) and 23,000 miles.

Wow...yeah that is crazy. I noticed that when I changed my rotors out the pads and rotors were a lot worse in the rear vs front.
