Brakes soft after ABS module replacement

Finally got the GC back from the shop today, after waiting a week

They replaced the following:

- Control unit. Hydraulic Assembly abs, Right Hand Drive. Anti-lock Brake
(pt#68085389AA)

- Module. Right Hand Drive. Anti-lock Brake System (pt#68139770AB)

My brakes now feel like there is more pedal travel before the braked began to activate.

Is this normal ?

Re: Brakes soft after ABS module replacement

The first check would be the fluid level. The dealer should have done that, but, you know.

Yeah that was the first thing I did. I was hoping it may have had something to do with ABS re-learning or something lol

Re: Brakes soft after ABS module replacement

Have you found a solution?

I had the same problem at 3k had a very soft/spongy pedal. They replaced the master cyl and the ABS module. After that my brakes were a little better but still soft, and if you keep pressure on the pedal, the pedal will eventually sink to the floor. Its has since gotten worse (now at 20k miles) and I have had it at the dealer for the past two weeks searching for solutions. They have bled the system 3 times with no improvement. They have submitted multiple STAR reports to Jeep with no answers.

This is starting to get frustrating.

If I find anything out I'll let you know.
