We have a 2011 GC Overland with HID lights. The passenger side high beam does not come on. Is this a HID high/low beam combination and if so should we take it to the dealer as the book says?
I take it the outside light is the HID, inside large light in daytime lights and little one is parking light? Cannot find any picture telling me this in the book. Thanks
I would take it back to the dealer if your car is still under the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty as it is a covered item whatever the problem is. The light behind the projector lens is the HID low/high beam. The high beam is just a shutter to redirect the light. The inside reflector light is the DRL. The little one on the outside is the park light, the orange inside light is the turn signal. All this can be found out if you just turn the lights on and go through all the light settings
Yes, they only work in drive. One way you can test them is by putting a wheel chock under a tire, put on the emergency brake and put it in drive and close the doors. It should then activate the DRL so you can verify they are working.
Okay, they fixed it, they had to replace the whole head light assembly, they could not replace just the motor that moves the reflector for high/low beams, all under warranty..
