Burned socket

This is a picture of the DRL socket on my 2012. Anyone else ever notice burn marks like this? Is it something i should be worried about?

Wouldn't changing to LED increase the heat at the socket since these were not designed for LED?

Re: Burned socket

LED is supposed to give off less heat. With the household LED bulbs I know that the base gets hot as opposed to the actual bulb. Not sure with these.

My passenger side LED in the DRL just went out after almost 5 years. I think my sockets also looked like that and had me worried. Will take a look again when I go to replace it soon. Also have an IR Thermometer now I could use to check things out.

Re: Burned socket

I ran Putco Plasmas LEDs for years when I had the '11 with no issues.
