Can additional POIs be loaded on the Nav set?

I have been able to load POIs (Points of Interest) on my Garmin nuvi for years and wonder if there is any software out there where I can do the same on our GC.

And of course the next question is if software is available, how is it loaded?

I'm guessing it can't be done.

- Chuck

Hmmm. Wonder if a loader could upload thru the USB port, thru the bus to the Nav file.

You don't list a year or stereo, so I will assume it's a 11-13 with the 430n, in which case look here:
New (Aug 9, 2013) Software Update MyGIG RBZ-RHB 50.00.07

Sorry. Forgot that I hadn't listed our car. Actually we have a '14 Limited with 8.4AN display.

I'm not holding my breath that anyone has done what I'm talking about but one never knows. I do know that the maps and POIs are typically over a year old when we get them so it would be nice to have more recent POIs installed.

Re: Can additional POIs be loaded on the Nav set?

There was a thread last year discussing a number of attempts to try adding POIs, and no one had any luck. The software on these head units is locked up pretty tight. I don't think the lockpicks that are available can help either.

Keep the NUVI, you'll need it.

Believe me, I will. I've got lots of favorites, too, that I can't port over to the Jeep. None the less, my wife and I (especially my wife, since it's her car) are really enjoying this Jeep.

I agree, the GC is great, without the NAV it would be fantastic And that is really unfortunate.
