CEL after towing boat

Hello all......

Drove from detroit to Dallas over the last few days towing my boat. All well within the towing capacity.

Woke up this am and went to do some shopping and it popped. I did the battery reset but it came back. Its amber not red.

2014 overland v6....... any ideas? Pby have to go to the dealer but I start my new job tomorrow so I wont get chance to get there until mid week.

Coincidentally enough, there was a TSB for this just released: http://wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1803414.pdf

Yeah, sometimes, other than the pain in the neck factor, it is nice to see the fine old tradition of crappy oil pressure sensors being continued by Jeep.

The ones on the ZJ were crap, the ones on pretty much any 4.0 were crap... and now the TSB notes that the sensors on every engine in the 2014 line may also occasionally be crap.

Re: CEL after towing boat

Does anybody know where it is located? Accessing from the bottom or top?
If I ask them to replace this sensor and brake booster at the same time, the dealer can do the jobs more efficiently? or Just two separated jobs?

Hmm too many travel to a dealer... software update 3 times, head light replacement, fuel door not opening, dash board recall, removing metal clips.. all of these happens less than a year.

Sensor location varies by [unspecified] engine model and from the tsb all engines MAY experience this.

The sensor isn't anywhere near the brake booster--the booster is at the very rear of
the engine compartment on the driver side. Looks like a real pita to get into.

Mine is 3.6 gasoline. I agree with you. I do not think sensor and brake booster in neighbor.

The sensor is USUALLY right near the oil filter... unfortunately Google images doesn't seem to understand the concept of "2014" so try googling for images and see if one matched the actual placement--although I can't imagine why they'd change something so basic.
