CEL (MIL) when low on gas - Multiple communication failures between modules

Ok, I thought this was fixed before... What happens is at the same time the "range" switches to "low" the engine light comes on.

Does not turn off until you fill it back up and cycle the power like 5+ times

I brought it in while the light was on, they plugged in and after like 15mins said "Multiple communication failures between modules" ... should take a full day to fix.

Anyone able to shed some light on what that means?

Sounds like the xmas tree bug which a recall was issued on.
It requires lengthy flashing.

The Christmas tree issue was so named because all the lights on the dash lit up, not just the check engine light.

I already had the recall (loose ground wire) fixed. They thought that might fix this one.
