Changing DRL globes to LEDs

Can someone please tell me if there is a relatively easy way to get at the DRL globe mounts at the rear of the headlights on a JGC CRD Limited? I can't even get my hand in the gap on either side, and it looks like I'll have to remove parts to gain access to fit LEDs (and I'd really prefer not to).

Re: Changing DRL globes to LEDs

On the right front (driver's side) you should be able to access it through the access hole in the wheel arch liner.

For the left front (passeneger side) you may have to remove the air filter box if you can't access it through the wheel arch liner.

Re: Changing DRL globes to LEDs

I have a 2014 Summit. Can you change the DRL to LED with just a bulb change? I thought you have to do some special wiring etc to get them to accept LED.

Re: Changing DRL globes to LEDs

The only issue I've ever had changing conventional globes with LEDs is when I put LEDs in the Stop/Tail globes and the cruise control of the car wouldn't engage and wouldn't disengage when I touched the brake pedal (not my current JGC). I subsequently discovered that's because the LED globes don't have enough resistance to activate/deactivate the cruise control, but that can be fixed with a resistor placed in the feed wire.

I've now fitted the LED DRL globes to my JGC and they are fantastic. My thought is if they work on this model with its complex CANBUS wiring, then fitting LEDs to a car with conventional wiring should be easy peasy.
