Check engine light on... again!

I have a 2014 Summit. My check engine light popped on again last week for the 4th time in a year or so. The last 3 times, the oil pressure was low, which caused the dealer to replace numerous sensors, and eventually the oil pump itself. My truck was in the shop for several days. I am not looking forward to this again. It is a shame because I no longer have faith in my truck. At this point, I would never buy another Chrysler product again. I'll find out in a few days what's wrong with it.

Re: Check engine light on... again!

I too will NEVER buy another Chrysler product. I've had my Altitude in the shop over 4 times now for all sorts of electrical ghosts and STILL not a single fix has been made to my truck. Just "updates to computers."

Even after opening multiple cases with Chrysler customer service and "escalating each case to supposed "managers" and filing numerous complaints, safety concerns and disgust for their product... they only gave me 3 years of free oil changes, guess they thought that would make me happy. Even my dealer opening a case with the infamous "Star Dept" got nowhere. They told my dealer to give the truck back (even after 33 days in the shop with no tangible fix) to the customer and have them drive until the problems come back!! WTF kind of answer is that

My lawyer told me if it happens again to call him and he will file for a Lemon Law buy back.

My wife's check engine light turned on yesterday! She also has a 2014 summit. Is there anyway to check why it turned on from the menu guide on the steering wheel or do I need to take it in to the dealer? I don't have a code reader. Is it safe to drive? Who knows

Code readers are pretty cheap, and there are Autozone's in your area of Denver.

Generally, if the thing is on solid, it is nowhere near as serious as if it blinks, and it MAY go off after a few start stop cycles--which doesn't help with panic'd wives much.

There are several TSBs for CEL, bogus leak detect, poor ground, more bogus evap sensor detect, so make sure you are current.

Re: Check engine light on... again!

Will the engine light come on if I just need an oil change? I'm coming up on one in the next 500 miles I think and it popped up - I'm hoping that's all it is.

No, the check engine light does not come on for oil changes.
