I'm nearly sure you can buy an Chrysler extended warranty up to 48,000 miles.

Here's some more information regarding aftermarket mods: http://www.impalaclub.com/naisso/magmoss.htm

You have until 48 months or 48,000 miles (whichever occurs first) to purchase the extended warranty. Once you pass 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever occurs first) you will be charged a $150 fee on top of the online prices. You are still within the first year and 12,000 miles so you won't have to pay the extra fee.

Your nerf bars, chrome fog bezels and chrome mirror caps will not affect your warranty at all. The CAI (if NON-MOPAR), could void a portion of the warranty IF it's proven that it caused some failure of a part (MAF sensor would be the most likely culprit but generally a CAI is no big deal). The HID conversion kit would only void any warranty claim on your lights if something electrical occured.

Get the warranty and don't look back!

Re: Chrysler Extended Warranty Prices

What happens when you have a deductible and go in and they say nothing is wrong. You pay up to your $100 or no charge with no fix? or do they charge a diagnostic fee which is 100 + so you end up paying your deductible?

You pay $100 per visit for the same thing. In other words, let's say you take it in, pay the $100 and they say nothing is wrong or they supposedly fix it and you have to bring it back a day or two later because of the same problem. You won't have to pay the $100 deductible again because it's the same issue.

It's there. When you scroll down on the second screen to the section titled "Coverage Details" there is a drop down and Lifetime is the last option. Make sure you pick the year, make and model. Then put in 10 miles for example and be sure to select the 5/100 Powertrain Warranty since our Jeeps come with that in addition to the 3/36 Factory Warranty. Then select YES, YES, NONE, Lifetime, $100 (or whatever deductible you want...$100 is most popular) and how many miles you'll drive a year, then put in dummy name and e-mail and you'll get your quote for reference purposes.

Just curious... When you buy the extended warranties online, how do they validate you are telling the truth with how many miles are on the vehicle at date of purchase? Or is it just the honor system?

My mistake was that I was selecting the 3/36 instead of the 5/100
Thanks for the help.

Re: Chrysler Extended Warranty Prices

i understand the extended plan covers bumper to bumper except items such as brakes, wipers, bulbs. Things that are expected to wear out.
What about shocks, CV joint boots etc.
Is there a list of items not covered?

I assume you refer to MaxCare; it's not quite bumper to bumper per se, but the trim and door handles, for example, are things not covered nor are wear items like brake pads or brake rotors; you can download a sample contract from the web sites discussed.

The big difference I saw from "AddedCare" to "MaxCare" was that AddedCare did not cover wheel bearings nor did it cover seals/gaskets other than for specifically named items whereas MaxCare covers wheel bearings and all seals/gaskets not specific to named parts and is less restrictive for just a few hundred dollars more. I bought the MaxCare for $2000 as I'll hit 100,000 miles in three years, it's a new design with a lot of electronics, and that $2000 with $100 deduct easily pays for two significant repair visits. It is a better rate of return than the stock market for the foreseeable future, IMHO.

Re: Chrysler Extended Warranty Prices

If I understand these warranties correctly, the repair portion only takes effect upon expiration of the basic manufacturer's warranty, but the other benefits go into effect immediately. Is that correct?
