So for this latest recall, is every 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee being recalled?

Just got my recall notice in the mail. Hope they replace my booster as I have had several instances where I have had a solid pedal without warning as well as a brake light from time too time especially when towing. Not while braking , just while driving. I'll keep everyone informed what happens.

Re: Chrysler Recalls 867,795 SUVs Worldwide for Brake System

I did not get the notice yet but was at the dealer (in NJ) for my 18 month service. Seems like chrysler has shipped the part, that needs replacement, to the dealers yet. It could take upto 30 days per the dealers.

A good friend of mine is trying to sell his Jeep and has a buyer but the banks wont process the loan until the recall is complete.

Does anyone know anyone at any dealer in NJ who can help my buddy get this recall done ASAP and sell his Jeep?

Thanks!!

Just got my recall notice today . 29k on the 2011 and have had the rear door lock actuator, passenger side head, usb console tray, sway bar bushings, 430n & driver seat rear plastic cover replaced under warranty so far. What else?? Transmission was flashed for rough shifting issue and fixed. Still have the cloud of smoke every now and then on start up. Many problems, but still love this Jeep. My ZJ is comfortable, WJ a work horse and the WK2 is my favorite out of them all, but has had the most issues.

It's also the most techologically complex.

Re: Chrysler Recalls 867,795 SUVs Worldwide for Brake System

Also got my greeting today.

Nobody needs to rush to get this done. According to the notice, if the booster leaks and gets water in, and the water freezes, the brake pedal will need additional pressure to stop the Jeep.

I'll have them address it with my August oil change.

Re: Chrysler Recalls 867,795 SUVs Worldwide for Brake System

I had my brake booster replaced before I got the recall. Got it replaced because I lost braking power last weekend all under warranty. Dealership stated booster failure due to leak. I live in Toronto where we just had a long winter. We use salt on our roads and I'm guessing after 2 winters with my '12 jeep water/salt got in and corroded the booster causing the leak.

I asked them about the recall and they said my VIN wasn't recalled. They replaced the booster with a brand new unit. Checked under my hood and they didn't install the Foam Booster Shield. So if my Jeep gets recalled I'm guessing all they'll do is install the shield. Kind of scary that my booster fails after 2 years / 68,000kms of ownership.

Re: Chrysler Recalls 867,795 SUVs Worldwide for Brake System

Not sure why they send me a letter telling me to contact my dealer "right away" to schedule service to have the problem corrected. I call the dealer and they say parts wont be ready for a while and that Chrysler will send me a 2nd letter telling me to call the dealer back again to schedule service. So the reason for the letter I just got was what again?? whatever I could care less when I have this done but if you tell people to call right away they probably will. Just goes along with the twisted way this company operates.
