Turns out I may have been wrong. The sticker and clips did stop making nice but now I get a lateral clicking from the right side where the back and base of the seat meet. I can take my hand and push against the right side bolster and slowly let go and I'll get a "click". When turning, sometimes a few. I thought this may have been in the plastic cover that holds the seat back bolts and spin drive to the base, but that turned out to be false.

Now my Hemi is leaking oil in my driveway. Maybe I should go buy another 4Runner... Sheesh. This thing hates me.

Re: Clicking seat

were you ever able to get it fixed? I too thought it was those lower clips on the seat back. I did note that if i grab the left portion of my seat, I can lift up and down and jiggle it in this manner, it will click and seams to be loose. The floor mounts are firmly in place so its just the cushion moving.

This in addition to the rattle from the driver side roof handle, and the moon roof rattle, and the instrument cluster rattle, and the tail gate creaks... jeeze you'd think a summit edition would be quieter, but alas it is a jeep

Saving up the issues for a dealer but i hate having to go back again and again... If you have solved the seat rattle, please share.

Re: Clicking seat

Not really much help but mine was fixed after the dealer replaced the seat base three times. I just played around with it until I could reproduce the click for them - in my case by pushing hard sideways on the front of the seat.

Mine was making noise with the seat all the way down. When you push the seat to the up/high position it seems to take care of the clicking noise. They replace the seat track on mine as well.

The noise in my seat is definately coming from the upper seat back, not the lower seat or mounts. It occurs as my weight is transfered into the seatback as the vehicle moves. It sounds like some internal plastic seat components are hung up on each other and rubbing against each other until they "pop" past each other & I hear a click! Really not sure if I want some barely competent dealer tech removing my summit leather to poke around in my seatback to attempt a fix!

Should be a covered warantee issue, if you decide to let them attempt a fix though!

Heya...sorry to revive a 2 year old post...but did you ever figure this out? My seat has the same plastic pop in the upper seat back when I move around. I have a 15 SRT. Strange we had the same experience. I can't find much else about this.

Thanks

Re: Clicking seat

There's some that finally brought it in and then got tired of the we can't replicate it crap. Ine guy went further and as It turns out our lumbar assembly is a semi rigid airbag that has some sliders pressed in to the sides and rides up and down on a pair of metal rails. Well there's a small piece of harder molded plastic at the edge of the bag that flicks a rail or whatnot. This is the culprit of the clickpop as I call it. I got tired of rocking back and forth hearing the click so I put my lumbar all the way deflated and down and it's gone. It can sit half mast and half height but on a rarity I got the noise again.

Re: Clicking seat

Doesn't it also nullify the usefulness of an adjustable lumbar support?

Clicking seat

Anyone ever get an answer about this seat click? It's driving me crazy.

I already took apart the power seat control panel and installed dynamat on all the mounting clips, took the seat back off and didn't find the source. It seems like it's coming from the main pivot point between the upper and lower halves of the seat.

Last i remember some users found noise went away when the seat was all the way up. Try it. Good luck!

Re: Clicking seat

My 2015 Overland HA has a click in the passenger seat every once in a while that is mostly heard only when someone is sitting in it. I have tried moving the seat which doesn't do much, but never thought about adjusting the lumbar support. I'll change the location of that and see if it goes away. Thanks!

Clicking seat

Already tried that. There was no difference except for my head touching the headliner lol.

This morning driving into work i actually felt the clicking source on one of the plastic panels where the seatbelt comes through and a little further down.

While i'm off next week I plan on removing all of the plastic panels on the driver seat to try and figure out the source. I really can't take the constant clicking anymore!!

**edit**

got home early today from work and removed the entire control panel from the seat base, took it for a test drive, STILL clicks!

Raised seat all the way up and started moving the lower cushion around and found a very similar click coming from a metal on metal joint towards the front of the frame just behind where the lumbar switch would be. Its two metal brackets one has a pressed in bolt and the other accepts that bolt through a hole via a 1/2" nut. So i took that joint apart and added some butyl rubber around the base of the bolt and on either side of the bracket. Bolted it back together and took it for a test drive.

Guess what!!! no more clicking Not getting my hopes up just yet, but I will remain optimistic.

I also plan to dynamat the entire backside of the control panel and the metal slip joints it mounts to. Just wanna make sure there is nothing else that can rub or make noise in there.

stay tuned....
