Re: Clicking sound

Sounds like a solenoid valve to me. To what, not exactly sure...

I'll try it out tomorrow morning & let you know

Interesting I noticed this as well, hear it more at slow speed or in a drive through. Would like to know what it is.

Re: Clicking sound

I tried putting it in sport mode & driving it at slow speeds & still heard it. So it's def not the tranny. Now I'm curious!

Re: Clicking sound

I have the same sound on mine it happens every time without fail, I too heard it first in the parking garage. I started a thread about it a while a go and got no responses, so I thought it was just an issue with mine. I told dealership about it when I was there last month and they said its *normal* and more pronounced with oversized tires but I call BS on the tire thing as it happened prior to the tires going on and never got any worse after.

Re: Clicking sound

I have determined that the clicking is the transmission shifting. I'm parked in my indoor parking garage at work right now. I parked my Jeep, have the shifter in Park. While shifting from P to R and to D it makes the click sound. Doesn't do it when shifting to N.

Re: Clicking sound

It also happens on acceleration and when coming to a stop, my money is on the front suspension.

Interesting comment about the suspension. I wonder if the clicking I heard during my test this morning in the parking garage was the result of movement (although very minimal) in the suspension when shifting into Reverse/Drive?....if it's actually the suspension making the click sound. May explain why it doesn't click when shifting into Nuetral? I'll try to hear for the click again as I roll over the speed bumps in the parking garage while in Nuetral. Will post back later.

Re: Clicking sound

I didn't hear the clicking when rolling over the speed bumps in the parking garage. I had it in Nuetral. I'm convinced its something in the transmission like a solenoid.

Re: Clicking sound

Just wanted to give an update. I went to the dealer with the clicking noise coming from the front of the car, (while turning slowly in a garage) and they said it was the rims that were bent in the inside making the noise, and they were ordering another rim and going to put that on. This was covered under the warranty.

Sound like you have a different issue than mine.

Re: Clicking sound

My 2014 Limited 4x4 has similar click sound. It happens when:
1. Shift from D to N
2. Before complete stop if in D/S (no click sound if in N)
3. Just after start moving
It sounds like a solenoid turns on/off, quick loud if window is down.
