Oh, it helped a lot. Seriously. I was going to lemon the vehicle over this if it weren't remediated.

Now it just occasionally blasts me with maximum heat when I have the AC on in the middle of the summer (after I increase the cabin temp setting by 2°), it occasionally blows really hot/very cold air alternating in the winter (reminiscent of before the fix), and occasionally decides to set itself to HI regardless of what my current setting was... which I notice because I start sweating.

This is okay. Not perfect by any means, but not worth bothering with further. No longer do I drive with the window cracked open during snowstorms.

There is a BCM flash that csme out not long after the HVAC update. It fixed multiple things but one was inacurate external temperature sensor. From what i understand the HVAC has some dependance on it for temp. May be something to try if you hsve not already. My HVAC didnt operate correctly after theBCM update until i also did a battery cable reset. Anyway something to try

Re: Climate Control Question

On my vehicle I feel the latest update is worse, as before it would settle down after 15 to 20 mins. with minimal adjustments being required. Now I am constantly adjusting the settings to obtain a reasonable cabin temp. as it seems to chase outside temperature not cabin temp. Have had the blend door recalibration done with no improvement. Once again like other systems on this vehicle no fault codes indicated. The real annoying thing is that it worked perfect from new and was the update last January 14 that changed it to this unusual performance.

Re: Climate Control Question

On my new '15 summit I have it set at 73 and haven't touched it in a month. I have only had to turn the front defroster on a few times. Otherwise is seems perfect.

Re: Climate Control Question

I had the same issue on my 2015. Anything below 70 I get cold air. Eventually it settles down. The only weird part is the setting for the footwell only comes on with the vent. Then I try the vent and footwell combo button and it does the same thing. It's freezing outside today and I wanted the foot we'll only and I can't feel the air. I also drove back from the gym and I was already hot. Maybe that's why I didn't feel it?

Can someone chime in?

Re: Climate Control Question

FYI - going to the dealer on Thursday for evaluation. They indicated over the phone that they will likely be re-flashing. Fingers crossed. I am a little concerned, as there have been a lot of posts about this same issue.

Re: Climate Control Question

I have been fighting this for 2 years and have pretty much just given up. Mine works fairly good when it is hot all the time or cold all the time. Spring and Fall are when mine acts up the most. I have purchased nine Chrysler products since 2002 and one month ago we traded off my wife's Jeep and bought her a VW Beetle. This 2014 might be my last Jeep also.

Re: Climate Control Question

Had the usual 22degC selected earlier this week with cooler outside temps around 27C. Have a dial thermometer in the outlet vent (drivers R/H), was all working fine with the vent putting out around 18C after initially going down to around 12C. I felt it to be a little cooler than required after approx. 15mins so selected 23C, what happened then was the vent temp rose to 35C with the obvious flow of warmer air into the cabin. Eventually, like after 10 minutes it began to settled back but still too hot. Selected 22C again and you get the picture. ONE degree of selection for 10Deg C of vent temp control. Keeping data on temps to hand over to service department next visit, not expecting this issue to be resolve soon. Very disappointed in Jeep for this poor climate control system as updates have only made it worse I feel. Don't use Auto Mode because the airflow control is less than desired and as soon as you touch the fan dial it reverts back to the so called manual mode anyway. Should note that this is a late July13 built 14 and has had air- conditioning issues almost from new.

Re: Climate Control Question

2015 Overland - I have mine set at 72 and have not changed it since I bought it. I have had to set the defrost from time to time, but that is about it.

Re: Climate Control Question

I don't understand when you 1st start the vehicle it has to blast you with air immediately in auto especially when it's cold out...
I have had all flashes and you would think it would wait till the car warms up to actually put out heat, but no.. Cold air thru the vents within 10 sec of starting?? Everyone freezes and we end up turning the HVAC off until we see heat come up on the temp gage...
This vehicle had the worst dual zone/auto functionality/accuracy I have ever had in a vehicle! And that includes a 20k Nissan Rogue that works perfectly..... Love it otherwise, but this really doesn't make sense...this problem was solved years ago on other vehicles.. Why can't jeep fix this??

Re: Climate Control Question

Try another dealer, stbentoak. While mine is a 2012, not a 2014 like yours, the climate control works flawlessly.

I couldn't agree with you more. With warmer weather Downunder having 23C selected and an outside temp of 28C+, on initial start and after 5 mins or so I get blasted with hot air and an outlet temp measured at the vent of 38C. Go figure. Eventually it settles down but cabin is never on or near target temperature. Jeep obviously change thing's from the 12z because of the continued updates for the HVAC. Work in progress it seems?
