500 miles and never moved the setting from 70... A HUGE improvement!

Great outcome if in fact the Sun Sensor has fixed the problem. They still have my vehicle. Believe they are also looking at the sun sensor and the cabin temp sensor as the cause? Just for interest can you select 74f (23c) and see what happens and that it still controls or goes insane. Mine does work to a point with a 70f (21c) setting but eventually will just pump in cold air after the sauna treatment. 23c (74f) is were mine looses the plot completely.

74? I can't imagine any situation where I would want it to be that warm. My setpoint has been 68 since my first trip. 70 was a little warm for me.

I understand but if I select 23c (74f) to slightly increase the cabin temp I get (have a guage in the outlet vent to monitor) 45c (113f) as the delivery temperature to the cabin and probably after 10 min or so will reduce to around 38c. Is that normal?

Re: Climate Control Question

Have had the vehicle back just on 3 weeks now. With 21c selected and haven't had to touch it. The vent temp rises initially (now not excessive) as expected with the cooler weather but within a minute or so reduces and stabilisers at the preselected cabin temperature. Now as the temp of the day increases the vent temp slightly reduces to compensate but before it would almost go full cold causing me to adjust the preselect. They informed me that both the Sun and Cabin Sensor were changed to rectify the problems that I was experiencing.

Re: Climate Control Question

I picked up my '15 GC in March of this year, pretty much after the cold weather was behind us, so I wasn't using the heater. The a/c worked well, however. Now that the cold weather is here, I'm a little disappointed, as I find myself chasing my tail with temps. When the cabin is initially cold, the heater kicks right in, but as the set temp is reached, the air then seems to go to "full cold".

This is nuts!

I feel the Climate control system for this vehicle is not quite right also. However since changing the 2 sensors it has improved greatly. I have 21C (70F) selected and that seems to be the balance point for mine to control the temp to a satisfactory comfort level. I leave it there and let it do it's thing. I don't use Auto, useless! Moving the settings from 21C does upset it still (not as bad a before) but rarely do I have to touch it now. My view is that the cabin sensor has insufficient airflow over it or it's poor location to react quickly enough to changes causing spikes in vent outlet temps. The HVAC system has had many updates to improve owners expectations. Work still in progress it seems.
