Connecting iPod

I have an iPod Nano, and have successfully connected it to my 2013 JGC Limited V6 once via the center console USB/iPod connector to verify it works. I am getting ready for a trip, and loaded a few more songs onto the iPod. When I tried to connect it again, my 430n does not seem to recognize it. I have used the Media > Scan function but all it picks up is my bluetooth phone. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
