Cruise Control Resume Takes Off

Several times now I have hit Resume after a stoplight and had the cruise take me far past the original set point. Once when set to 45 it went past 60 before I hit the brake. Pressing Set has no effect when this is happening. Today it went to 50 before slowing back down to 45 (we have a lot of 45s here).

Has anyone else experienced this ?

Re: Cruise Control Resume Takes Off

No, I haven't. Do you have the ACC or the standard CC?

Re: Cruise Control Resume Takes Off

I have standard cruise control. When set at 55, it will only go up to 56 or 57 before settling back to 55 when resume is pressed while driving on level road.

Re: Cruise Control Resume Takes Off

Thats not operating right. Wonder if the steering wheel button is sticking? Resume is also the increase speed button right (+) ? There have been quite a few reports of problems with steering wheel switches.

Re: Cruise Control Resume Takes Off

If resume was sticking it would keep going up. I had it set for 40. After a stop I pressed resume once and it went up to 45 then came back down to 40.

Re: Cruise Control Resume Takes Off

Mine won't engage at low speeds and the EVIC says "minimum speed not met" or something like it. If you can press resume at a stop and have it accelerate, there's likely something wrong with it.

Re: Cruise Control Resume Takes Off

I usually get up to about 30 before hitting resume. Did it again this morning, was set at 45. Pressed resume at about 30 and took foot off accelerator, speed came slowly up to 50 then backed off to 45.

Re: Cruise Control Resume Takes Off

I dunno, you have a V6 right? My V8 is usually dead on but complains a lot going slow on hilly terrain.
