Re: Cupped Falken Tires!?!

I have the falken rocky mountains which are basically the same exact tire in a 245/65/17 on my 06 wk and had the same problem with mine I bought them off a friend though so no warranty or anything but had cupping really bad after a couple thousand miles and the road noise is terrible on them now, not a huge fan of these tires and will be swapping them out as soon as I can afford to do so

interesting...I'm sorry to hear that you had issues with your tires but glad to hear I'm not alone with my Falkens! I think I'm going with the Cooper AT3's as a replacement

Isn't the problem with the alignment and not the Falken Tires?
Sounds like regardless what tire you install you are going to have problems until you get the alignment adjusted.

Probably a bit of both but I'm definitely going to get the alignment sorted out before I put new shoes on her!

Update:

I got my alignment tuned in and am getting new cooper discoverer AT3's installed now! I'm actually sitting in the tire shop waiting room as I type this!

Day one in the new shoes and I'm very happy! The horrendous noise from the cupped tires is gone and the new coopers are very smooth and quiet. There is some very mild road noise but considering the tread, traction and grip of these I have no complaints at all! In my opinion these offer a great balance of off road prowess and luxury ride of the overland.
Looking forward to some off road adventures!
