So our first issue has arisen. Up to this point the Jeep has been nothing but a dream. This morning, after about 30 minutes of driving the check engine light came on. Immediately called the closest dealership and brought it in for diagnosing. They pulled a cylinder 6 misfire code that had been stored. AS we let it idle it went active. Awesome!
This is especially great timing as I am supposed to be moving 4+ hours away tomorrow.
I'm hoping it is just a dirty injector or something very minor. Search-Fu brought up a few threads about replacing the headers hope that is not the case. I will keep this updated as I learn more.
I just experienced a Cylinder 5 misfire. I noticed that the engine was idling rough on my commute home on Monday. Sure enough the check engine light came on right after I started it up yesterday morning. Took it to the dealer first thing this morning and they told me that it was a bad spark plug. They replaced the plug and all seems to be well for now. I just hope this is not an indication of things to come. I have heard several owners have had to have the head replaced
I hope that is the case ajs8000. Just to give some background, I have a 2011 WK2 built in December 2010. It had just over 16,000 miles on it when the plug failed. It seems like most people having the heads replaced have 2012 models. I will definitely repost here if I have further problems.
