12/14 build, just started the hard 2-1 shift last week (7000 miles). Going to the dealer next week, but I'm doubtful anything will get done.

im going to guess you are talking about the V6 right? you could try the battery cable reset but it doesn't sound like the result lasts very long.

Mine has shift quality issues also, dealer tells me it's normal operation and Chrysler may release another TSB update.

I did the battery reset thing on my V6, and it did nothing.

I hope Chrysler/Jeep comes out with a reflash soon. My next step is lodging a complaint with Chrysler Customer Care.

Hopefully if enough people complain about their rough shifting transmissions, Chrysler will come out with another TSB pronto!

And a bang noise when put it on drive.. What else will be tomorrow ..my car is only 700 mile used ... Ohhhh yes my last jeep ..

My dealer said the same exact thing to me. They said the Cherokee 9-speed has been a nightmare and has tons of problems, but the Grand Cherokee 8-speed hasn't had any issues that they were aware of. Funny, right? Then they tried to tell me that there was nothing wrong with my transmission. Now they are admitting that my transmission isn't working right, but can't fix it.

Anyway, if you do decide to bring it in, don't let them waste your time. Tell them you want them to do the adaptive relearn procedure and then test to see if the problem is still there. If it is, tell them you want the valve body replaced. If that doesn't do the trick, they'll end up replacing your transmission. The Service Manager told me that Chrysler does not allow them to "open" the transmission to repair it, other than pulling off the pan to replace the valve body. That's as far as they'll allow the dealerships to go with the new 8-speed automatic.

Anytime there is a TSB for my jeep, I print it off and bring it to them so they know exactly why I'm bringing it in.
