?????

When I hit remote start, I can do it by feel on the fob in my pocket. If I feel the need, I can eyeball it and then put it back in. When I get near the vehicle, there's no need to physically remove the key for anything.

Fair point. In my comment above I was still in the context of the situation that created the lockout scenario...Remote Start > enter passenger door > somehow leave fob in vehicle > shut passenger door.

At any rate, if the fob stays on your person, there should not be a problem. I think.

Re: Darn keyless enter-n-go

They should just add a remote retinal scan so we can do a double-blink to start it or open it if we lose the fob. Wait...filing a patent on that now....

Re: Darn keyless enter-n-go

In 5 years of having remote start I have never locked myself out. Anyway, the only issue I find myself haveing, is forgetting to push the button to shut off the Jeep when exiting, the engine is so quit you don't feel it running. I have gotten so use to not haveing a key in my hand that when I exit the Jeep I notice it is still running and have to reach back in and push the button to shut it down.

Nah. Just use the universal key. Insert in the window.

you see, I would throw the "universal opener", it would deflect wierd off the window and hit the side mirror breaking it, then bounce back onto the driver door making a huge dent/scratch down the side of my precious. After that I would pick it up and on the 2nd attempt smash the window just to find that the FOB was in my pocket the entire time!

Admit it; you're one of those guys who can break an anvil with a rubber hammer, aren't you?

Exactly. I first went to push the button but could not reach brake.

I had set the key on the back seat. It was in the vehicle and it would not
Open either via doors or liftgate.

Locking the key fob in the car after remote start must be a loophole. If you leave the key fob in the car and lock the doors, the system chirps the horn 3 times and unlocks the doors to let you know the fob is inside. I'm surprised it didn't do that anyway...
