Dash Display Malfunction?

Was driving today and I noticed when I fired up the vehicle I heard a "beep" identical to the sound it makes when you select a new terrain mode and for some reason on my dash the (!)(P) lit up which would be the hand brake and also the yellow light for losing traction lit up. It would turn off after a few minutes and beep and turn back on repeatedly.

Any idea why its doing this? It's only got 7000km on it and I have no electronic mods whatsoever just exhaust and rims. I've contacted my dealer but they cannot book me in for another 2 weeks and it's driving me crazy because it does that every time I drive!

Re: Dash Display Malfunction?

Check your brake fluid. Seriously.

Re: Dash Display Malfunction?

Seriously? I will do that right now but how the two are related is beyond me.

Re: Dash Display Malfunction?

Yours has a hand brake?

I do not have a hand brake. My parking brake is a foot pedal.

I also do not have a (!)(P) light. I have a light that has the word BRAKE in all capital letters, which indicates that the parking brake is on, or that there is some non-ABS related brake issue, and I have another light that has ABS in a circle which is for ABS related brake issues.

The only "P" that I have on the instrument panel is when the gear selector is in Park.

The only light I have that has an exclamation point (!) is the tire pressure monitor light, and if this lights up you should be able to check your tire pressure through the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC).

LOL Sorry a Parking Brake is what I meant, yes mine is also a foot pedal but when you depress it the (!)(P) light comes on, I do not have a light on my dash that says "BRAKE". Maybe this is a US/Canadian difference since mine is Canadian? And no mine's definitely not the TPS light because I had a flat tire before and that light was a yellow (!). The (!)(P) light I am speaking of is red to the left.

I did check my brake fluid, it's fine but the 2 lights still come on so... I guess I'll just have to wait for the dealer to figure this one out.
