Thanks for the great advice, that makes sense and helps me out having never been through this scenario before.

IMO, better that the car took the impact vs occupant, and better that it was totalled vs. major repairs.
Thanks again Moose - hopeful they do total it.

Just drove 1800 miles through 9 eastern states and this was a constant worry. That really blows. Sorry man.

Ever since it happened every where I drive I am too paranoid now about it. In the northeast corner of Colorado, there are quite a few deer in the hills - and finally a big buck decided to attack my Jeep! Just my kind of luck - but thanks for the nice comment.

Just trying to figure out a replacement vehicle, pick up another rental in the mean time, and travel back home.

How did the deer win? Sounds like a lose-lose, unfortunately.

Especially in the month of November.

Them deer are EVERYWHERE here in CO. I hike in some local parks where hunting is prohibited and I swear I could walk up and just slit ones throat.

After getting a call from claims agent this morning - saying to expect a call about ACV valuation for total. Then later my cell rang and it was a DR (damage repair) specialist who said they were going to now "repair" my jeep. Got to body shop and the owner hadn't heard anything about it nor had he looked at the damages.

So pissed now I can't see straight. Tired of all the misinformation and lying from my insurance company. Been with same company and agent for over 15 years. My loyalty is completely gone now. I don't know what to believe.

Those adjuster/ estimators go over a wreck with a fine tooth comb and a computerized list of parts and labor estimates. If it comes out $20.00 cheaper to repair a wreck instead of totaling it... that's the way they'll go

Re: Deer 1 - 2012 GC Overland 0

So what do they propose to do about the diminished resale value?

Re: Deer 1 - 2012 GC Overland 0

Is the frame bent? I would doubt it would be totalled, but if that's what you want I would push for it. Might take a long time to fix. I got in a front end collision with my 98 Grand Cherokee years ago and it was several lies and several months to get it fixed.
