Re: Did Shudder TSB fix a problem? 2011 Shudder problems thread

My dealer feedback was as expected. They could not duplicate the issue, and their Tech hasn't had enough time behind the wheel of an '11 Hemi with Quadra Drive II to know what is normal and what is wrong. He said that just because they can't reproduce it doesn't mean it isn't happening. He also said that I should expect the "rough" performance of the torque converter and transmission to smooth out over the next several thousand miles. He said this combo has a 5,000 - 10,000 miles break in cycle.

A couple of other things, he said that Chrysler does release updates to the ECU / tranny programming and they could issue a TSB. He said there were none for my car now (based on VIN build date) but that could change.

What I liked is that he said he would document all of this for me and if I have more questions or concerns I could bring it in at any time. I felt like they believed me but they don't yet know what to do about it. Interestingly he mentioned that I should try to use the 4WD more rigorously to see if I can speed up break-in.

He also stressed that if I had any major problems it would be fully covered under the warranty. I am a pretty big fan of Saratoga Chrysler Jeep. Whether they do or not, they at least make me feel as though they genuinely want me to be happy with my purchase.

Re: Did Shudder TSB fix a problem? 2011 Shudder problems thread

I have a V-6 limited and while mine does not shutter I sometimes get a noise from what sounds like the rear end when coasting between 20 and 30 mph usually when driving in a parking lot or sub division. I just wondered if it was related to this issue because it will not do it if it is in sport mode and I know this problem disappears in sport mode. Anyone with a 6 cyclinder notice this?

First time poster here.
I've never owned a Chrysler prod. but since first seeing the WK2 I've been in love. I found this website during my research. Kuddos on an awesome site!
But after watching this problem specifically and what appears to be at this point any real resolution from ChryslerCo., I have to admit I went from paying cash for a Laredo 4x4, Hemi, Advtr I, on the 4th of January to "waiting and watching."
Here's to hoping you guys get your rigs fixed soon.

I think there might be a new solution! I just got a message from Chrysler support and there is a new Software Update for this problem: RRT11-002. Lets hope this does the trick! Good Luck!

According to:
http://wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1800111.pdf

This looks the same as this TSB which is a ESC enhancement for ESC sensitivity. I'm not sure how this could help the shudder problem, but I'd be curious to see if it does.

My Jeep will have been at the dealer for 3 days tomorrow, having the torque converter replaced to fix the shudder. I was evidently not the first one to have it done at this dealership either. I'll post a new thread with my results after I pick up the Jeep tomorrow.

Ok, thanks for the update. I look forward to your feedback. Was yours a shudder that occurred during downshifting or during cruising / light acceleration in OD at 45mph? I had both, but the light acceleration shudder or shimmy smoothed out. The only remaining issue I have with this vehicle is when driving on a country road (between 45 - 55mph) if you floor I to pass someone the vehicle downshifts, but it shakes a lot and takes about two seconds for it to accelerate. It almost feels like it can't get into gear.

Re: Did Shudder TSB fix a problem? 2011 Shudder problems thread

No update for today. Dealer broke the shifter cable dropping the transmission and the part won't be delivered till Mon. or Tues.

My shudder was between 40-60 on slight inclines before the TSB update. After the update, it occured between 30 and 80 during acceleration, decelaration, steady cruising, uphill, downhill, flat land, and in any mode sport, snow, auto etc.

Re: Did Shudder TSB fix a problem? 2011 Shudder problems thread

What dealership are you working with? I want to put my service advisor in touch with them as he is saying they have no knowledge of any issues with shuddering on any jeeps and he also says they cant feel it on my truck, even though the thing shakes from 30 on up to 75.... Must be in my head !!!

Im so sick of this issue. I hate driving my jeep at this point.
