Re: Disabled Seat Belt Chime on 2014 JGC

The chime due to the driver's belt being unfastened was never a problem for me; my belt is always buckled.

But when my Significant Other is riding shotgun, well..

I disabled the chime this morning, and then I picked her up at the hairdresser (er, 'salon') and we went on an adventure through southern Vermont.. we went maybe ten miles and she said "Hey! the seatbelt bell isn't ringing!" "Yeah, I disabled it..."

And then she put on her seatbelt

BTW, yet another awesome roadtrip in the WK2.. "lovin' every minute of it"

This is probably a NA market "feature" only, otherwise how would all the lawyers stay in business.

I'm definitely turning that thing off... every time the wife has to turn around to tend to our little guy, the seat belt tensioners refuse to release, so she has to unbuckle. Really annoying to get the warning noise and have the EVIC yell at you too.

Re: Disabled Seat Belt Chime on 2014 JGC

So I did this in my wife's '14. The chime is gone, but the EVIC display continually comes up. I know you can let it time out and it will go away or hit ok, but how can you get it from coming up all the time while the belt is unbuckled? I'm guessing it will be something that I will have to deal with.

Re: Disabled Seat Belt Chime on 2014 JGC

Wow I am really happy this post helped everyone out. Looks like the instructions are clear, I was afraid they were not.

Since disabling the alarm, I have noticed that I am putting my seatbelt on less and this post is serving me as a reminder to buckle up.

Glad it helped everyone out.

My only complaint now with the Jeep is the transmission kicking when I drive at low speeds, i.e. in traffic. It seems to be confused with the low gears.

Re: Disabled Seat Belt Chime on 2014 JGC

I have tried this multiple times.
I always get the chime indicating it has worked, but I still get the warning sounds as you would normally.

Is it possible this function has been removed in an update, or maybe it doesn't work for Australian builds.
