Officially it is set to turn on and it may work occasionally but something in the programing normally prevents it from turning on and they are going to fix that.

As for the timeline, just the messenger. I guess it is good it will be fixed before it gets cold...... "again"

Will, is this going to be in a Uconnect update, or a HVAC TSB?

It will "most likely" (or at least from what I have seen) be an HVAC TSB and will probably be released as an RRT. As usual Milous will likely see the TSB and or update release before I do but I do know that it is coming.

They say June but I usually find these things run late so I am simply expecting delivery by fall. There has been a number of HVAC issues across a many Chrysler platforms and I know they are diligently working to get them all corrected.

Before someone corrects me yes I know the rear defroster is not technically HVAC but it is controlled in the same group.

Thanks for the news I'm not completely crazy about my rear defrost not working when it's 40 or below out. Hopefully the fix is ready by the time next winter is about to start.
