Door alignment on 2015 HA

The front passenger side door on my 2015 HA doesn't close so that it is flush with the rear door. You can see most of the side edge of the door like it didn't quite close all the way. Comparing to the drivers side, the drivers side is much more flush. I'm going to the dealer in a couple weeks for an early oil change and a couple other warranty issues. I'm debating whether I should have them adjust it or just leave well enough alone. Anybody had their dealer do this type of adjustment?

I tried to take a picture.

Re: Door alignment on 2015 HA

Believe it or not this is a very common issue. I had to look at 3 WK2s before I found one that had an exterior to my standards. I passed on literally 3 High Altitudes that all had unacceptable door gaps and another reason I will not order a Grand Cherokee as I like to hand pick mine. My HA has perfect gaps on the passenger side, the driver door does show a slight gap up against the rear door when looking from behind. If you take it in keep us posted as I don't really see how this will be adjusted as both the catch on the door jam and the latch itself on the door are not adjustable. I would like to know if this can even be adjusted.

Re: Door alignment on 2015 HA

Mine had the same thing on driver door and RR door. Took it to dealer and they fixed driver door in about 5 min. Had to take it to body shop up the road for RR door. Whole thing took about 20 min in and out. Apparently it's simple adjustment. Been fine since.

My '14 was like that. Dealer subbed it to the body shop across the street and they got it lined up.

Re: Door alignment on 2015 HA

I noticed the same thing on my '15 Altitude, but it is like that on both the driver & passenger side. Because of that I assumed it was supposed to be like that. Will the dealer fix this under warranty or only right after a purchase?

3/36 warranty covered mine.

No vehicle is ever supposed to have out of aligned door, or one protruding slightly from the next panel. I think there was discussion here multiple times before that some dealerships have even claimed it is supposed to be like that for less wind noise LOL. You cant make this stuff up.

Re: Door alignment on 2015 HA

Maybe they can fix mine easily too. Its not out of alignment but it doesnt close as easily as the other doors on my 2016 WK2. Passengers have to close it twice because it takes more force to catch. You dont really have to close it hard but it takes more force than the other doors.

Re: Door alignment on 2015 HA

Just a quick update. My dealer was able to adjust the door striker and now the door is flush. Not sure what that involves, but they didn't damage anything, so I'm happy about that.
