Door and hood alignment

A few days after picking up my new '14 Overland I noticed a couple of issues that I had not seen at the dealership... overcome with new car fever I guess. Anyway, here's my issue; both the hood and rear door on the driver's side are poorly aligned. The gap on the passenger side of the hood is noticeably wider than the gap running along the driver's side. The hood on the passenger side towards the front also sticks up above the body panel while it's slightly below on the driver side. The rear door on the drivers side sitting low - 1/8th of an inch or so. It closes fine but is clearly not mounted properly.

I fully expected to get both issues taken care of under warranty but I am surprised and I have to say a little disappointed that issues like this crop up on a +\- $50k vehicle. Has anyone else had similar issues?

Other than that it is, hands down, a great vehicle.

Re: Door and hood alignment

I was looking at a brand new off the truck 2014 GC SRT the other day at my dealer. The hood was sitting about a 1/2" below the fender on the drivers side. And the liftgate was also to close on the right side. So obviously the robots installing the liftgates are still out of adjustment. The hood could probably be leveled out by adjusting the hood bumper stop.

Re: Door and hood alignment

Body panels being out of alignment has been a frequent complaint on these forums regarding the 2014 JGCs. Some have them, many if not most, don't. In my case, the body work is flawless, so my guess is when a robot get "serviced" at some pre-determined interval, adjustments and tuning is not precise due to human error, and perhaps later, when "serviced" again, the correct specs are input. Just a hunch, but this might explain the inconsistecy

Re: Door and hood alignment

I've got an 07 WK. Both my hood and my drivers side door is slightly off. the door is lower than the rear passenger one. I can tell every time i look in my mirror and see the chrome window trim not line up. Sadly this seems to be the case every few off a line.
