Dreaded Shudder or Something Else??

Just picked up my Overland Hemi 4x4. Have driven it 1500 miles to date and love it.
However, I have an issue that I am concerned with. While driving between 40 mph up to 85/90 mph I experience a slight high frequency vibration while in either sport or auto mode and in drive. When the engine goes into ECO/MDS mode the vibration is stronger, much more pronounced. When I drop the tranny into the "tow/haul" mode the vibration is significantly reduced, nearly not noticeable. I took the car to the dealer and they could not duplicate the issue. (Note: Understandable as they drove it a total of 3 miles and the nearest freeway where they can legally get up to 45 plus mph is 5 miles away. I highlited the shudder TSB to the dealer and they offered to implement the TSB to satisfy me. I am hesitant for two reasons. First I am not sure this is the "dreaded" shudder I read about and second I read in this forum where some of you have had more shudder after the TSB was performed.
Has anyone experienced a strong vibration while in ECO/MDS mode which is reduced if the drive train is placed in tow/haul mode?? If so what was done to rectify the issue? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Re: Dreaded Shudder or Something Else??

That is not the shudder we are all talking about. What it sounds like you are feeling is the MDS mode which will give you a vibration in the drive-train as it is operating on 4 cylinders. The audible tone will also be different with the engine during this operation.

The shudder is an intermittent "Miss" feeling as you are slightly accelerating which causes the truck to lightly buck or jerk. most noticable with my truck at 40 MPH.

When MDS goes into 4 cylinder mode, the exhaust tone and perceived vibration do change.

Tow/Haul disables MDS.

Another factor could be tire pressure. The 20" wheels are very sensitive to excess tire pressure. 3 or 4 PSI over the recommended 36 make a huge difference in road noise and vibration.
