Driver seat issue!

Hi All!!

Since I've bought my GC-Overland V6, my driver's seat has been an issue. I always felt like something was hitting my back as if something was loose on the lumbar system. It was almost imperceptible in the beginning but it was gradually becoming worse ... Now for my surprise when I looked at the back of my seat, I noticed that the plastic cover popped out. Has anyone experienced this before? I went to the dealer today and he told me it would take 2-4 days to fix it. Really!??!?

Another question: I forgot to ask the service guy because I was so pissed .. but what is Jeep's practice in cases like this? Do they provide a loaner or its case by case ... I need the car everyday and I don't want to spend money on a rental for 4 days for a problem that I haven't created on a 45k car!

See pic below: Any insight is much appreciated!

2-4 days? That's...surprising. They should be able to look at it and determine the parts needed fairly quickly. If it takes 2-4 days to get the parts, I don't see why you couldn't just drive it until they came in...

2-4 days to fix I would find another dealer. Loaner car is up to the dealer

Re: Driver seat issue!

I had the same issue of the seat back popping off like that on my 2014 Limited...took two days to get the part, one day to fix it.

They gave me a loner for the day they worked on it, but not the 2 days waiting for the part...that would have been crazy unnecessary.

X2! As far as the back panel goes it may have just popped loose. My lumbar support was not working and it turned out a connector was not seated properly. 20 min job to diagnose and fix.

Your dealer should be able to access the problem in 30 min and order parts if needed and you return when parts are in.

Re: Driver seat issue!

Thanks everyone!

Yeah I agree! I was expecting them to check it out and determine what parts are needed. But they are saying that they are backlogged and it would take one-two days just to diagnose the problem. Unbelievable!

Other dealers around my area have really bad reviews on the internet ... and they are far from my job ... Anyway I guess I don't have other option ..
These small quality issues are really annoying! There is a rattle on my dash as well that happens only at high speed, it seems that is related to air flow and some components or hoses loose ... But if I ask the dealer to check this .. it will take forever and they might screw up something else .. So I guess it is better to turn up the radio!

Jeep still has a long way in terms of quality! The product is good but the execution is lagging far behind ..

The delay could be due to an issue with ordering the seat.
My SRT came delivered with damage to the leather on the rear seat.
Jeep have agreed to replace the seat.
However, a new rear seat has apparently never been requested before, and Jeep don't have a part number in the system to order one.
I've been told it may take a couple of months ( I'm in Aus.) to get my new rear seat.
it's possible the issue could be around ordering the seat.
